Abstract

The food delivery app market is not only extremely dynamic and rapidly growing but also very diverse.
Logistics forms the basis of on-demand service apps, and therefore, the delivery process is key to its
realization. The logistics and supply chain industry is rapidly evolving, and one of the most interesting
innovations is the delivery of ordered goods by drones for airborne delivery (unmanned aerial delivery
vehicle - UADV) and ground delivery robots (personal delivery devices – PDD) on demand to enhance the
efficiency and speed of last-mile delivery. Companies are transitioning to the use of UADV/PDD on
demand by automating and scaling current service operations. Therefore, the concept of using UADV/PDD
on demand for quick and efficient transportation of goods has attracted significant attention in recent years.
The technology of delivering ordered goods by UADV/PDD on demand is revolutionary. With their ability
to maneuver quickly and access hard-to-reach places, this technology offers numerous advantages that can
streamline the delivery process. However, their implementation presents both specific challenges and
unique opportunities, requiring careful consideration during the development of mobile apps for delivery
services. The article demonstrates that during the development of mobile apps for delivery services, it is
necessary to consider the technical features of using UADV/PDD, provides a classification of UADV/PDD
that can be used in on-demand delivery logistics to users. The advantages and disadvantages of each group
of UADV/PDD regarding their application in the delivery logistics of various cargoes under different
conditions are considered. Based on this, conclusions are drawn regarding the rationality of using certain
types of UADV/PDD on demand for food delivery, as well as the tasks of developing mobile apps for
delivery services.
