REGULATORY IMPACT ON INNOVATION IN THE WATER SANITATION SECTOR

The article analyzes the state of implementation of innovative policy in
the area of water supply and sanitation, the problems and reasons for introducing new
technologies into state regulation in the area of water sanitation. The general structure
of the stages of implementing innovative methods of wastewater management is
presented. The methods of state regulation of water supply and sanitation are studied and
the latest innovations in state regulation of water supply are considered. The problems that affect the state of innovations in the area of water sanitation are identified. The
European experience of implementing and regulating state innovations in water supply
and sanitation is analyzed using data from the International Water Association and the
European Water Innovation Platform, priority areas of innovation in water supply and
sanitation and obstacles to the development of innovations in this area. It is noted that
innovation policy should become one of the principles of state regulation in the field of
water supply and sanitation, defining such clear elements as: safe water supply,
professional training, service quality management, risk management.
