CONCEPTUAL FEATURES OF FORMING INTERNATIONAL LOGISTICS SYSTEMS IN THE DIGITAL ERA
Abstract
The article
substantiates the conceptual foundations of forming international logistics systems (ILS) under the
digital transformation of the world economy, growing geopolitical turbulence, increasing complexity
of supply chains, and the shift toward data-driven management. It is argued that in the digital era an
ILS evolves from a linear transport-and-warehouse chain into an adaptive networked ecosystem
whose core is end-to-end digital visibility, data interoperability, and intelligent decision-making.
Key digital technologies are systematized (Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, digital twins,
blockchain, cloud platforms, big data), and their role in increasing transparency, controllability, and
resilience of international supply chains is determined. An integral digital maturity index of an
international logistics system is proposed, combining visibility, integration, intelligence, resilience,
service, and sustainability.
A system of performance indicators, a matrix of strategic directions for 2026–2030, and a fivelevel digital maturity model with an implementation roadmap are developed. Scenario modeling
shows that the innovative trajectory has the highest potential. The proposed framework can be used
to diagnose digital maturity and prioritize investments in international logistics.
