Abstract

It has been generalized the definition of fundraising and its
corresponding conceptual apparatus. It is determined that the professional activity of a fundraising
specialist requires special skills and competencies. The professional scientific position of the future
specialist can influence the adoption of the results of successful management decisions. It has been
established that the growing role of organizations that are able to help the state in solving social
problems of citizens and supporting research and projects contributes to the development of
fundraising in Ukraine as a tool for finding appropriate potential resources. It was determined that
a promising direction for expanding the possibilities of fundraising activities is a thorough mastery
of the methods of its implementation and awareness of the differences between these methods for
different categories of donors. For business structures, an effective form of participation in charity
is social investment, for private individuals - their recognition; for government bodies - cooperation
and mutual benefit from the implementation of projects in the socio-economic development of
society in conditions of extraordinary challenges.
Overcoming problems in the direction of fundraising formation can be facilitated by studying
and implementing foreign experience in this area, for example, foreign fundraising tools: holding
nationwide competitions aimed at encouraging and popularizing charity and patronage; promoting
the successful development of endowments (trust funds created for non-profit purposes), the key
condition of which is the transfer of securities to charitable organizations; equipping computer
systems with specialized fundraising software, etc. Important in this regard is the dissemination of
knowledge about its essence and benefits among citizens, public awareness through trainings,
seminars, conferences, and the issuance of newsletters.
Keywords: fundraising, fundraising activities, business structure, project management,
information society, socio-economic development.
