EVALUATION OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF ENTERPRISE RESOURCE PLANNING METHODS IN THE TELECOMMUNICATIONS SECTOR

Abstract

The article evaluates the effectiveness of enterprise resource planning (ERP) methods in
the telecommunications sector, with a focus on ERP system implementation. Key aspects of ERP
efficiency assessment are examined in terms of financial, operational, and strategic indicators,
along with an analysis of global and Ukrainian studies in this field. The relevance of the research
and the necessity of ERP system implementation in telecommunications companies to enhance their
competitiveness are determined. The challenges of digital transformation and the impact of ERP on
enterprise resource optimization are described. It has been proven that modern methods of
enterprise efficiency evaluation, particularly financial (ROI, TCO, NPV), operational (KPI,
employee productivity, order processing speed), and strategic approaches (Balanced Scorecard,
competitive advantages), effectively determine the economic feasibility of ERP implementation. The
importance of a multidimensional approach to evaluating ERP effectiveness is emphasized.
Practical cases of ERP system implementation in leading telecommunications companies in
Ukraine (Kyivstar, Vodafone Ukraine, lifecell, Ukrtelecom) are presented. The main motives for
implementation, expected results, and methods for evaluating efficiency are described. A detailed
analysis of key ERP efficiency indicators applied in the telecommunications sector is provided. The
main criteria for assessing the financial viability of ERP, its impact on the speed of operational
processes, and the level of customer satisfaction are determined. Detailed case studies of ERP
implementation in telecommunications companies are proposed. Practical results of using SAP,
Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, and other ERP systems are described, demonstrating cost reduction,
process optimization, and increased operational efficiency. The study confirms that ERP systems are
critically important for improving resource management efficiency in the telecommunications
sector. However, further research is required to optimize their integration and maximize
effectiveness.
