Information security of the enterprise: theoretical aspect

Abstract

With the increase in the role of information, an information space is formed that requires protection from unauthorized or unintentional influence both at the level of the state, the region, and at the level of enterprises. In the process of functioning of enterprises, information protection provides an opportunity to receive high incomes, conclude profitable contracts with counterparties, significantly increases the level of competitiveness of the enterprise, and also allows to significantly increase the efficiency of the organization’s activities in general. In this regard, information security is an integral element of the enterprise management system, and all issues in this area are relevant. The purpose of the article is to conduct an analysis of statistical data on the state of cyber security in the world market, to study the theoretical aspects of the essence of the concept of "information security" and to formulate a list of principles for ensuring the information security of economic entities in today’s conditions. The article discusses the problem of ensuring information security in modern conditions. In the process of research, a wide list of definitions of the concept of "information security" of the enterprise was worked out and the author’s view on the essence of this category was provided. Internal and external threats arising in the information environment of the enterprise are described. The classification of threats to information security according to the main characteristics is given. Particular attention is paid to the principles of information security of the enterprise, the application of which will allow specialists to build and implement a high-quality information security system in the production processes of the enterprise.
