SOME ISSUES REGARDING THE FUNCTIONING OF MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS FOR MODERN ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION NETWORKS

Abstract

The principles
of building electronic communication networks with the management system of such networks are
considered and the requirements for creating a network and a management system in accordance with the
Law of Ukraine "On Electronic Communications" are presented in the article.
An analysis of problems related to the construction and implementation of modern electronic
communication network management systems was conducted. The variety of standard and non-standard
interfaces, the presence of heterogeneous control systems, many technologies and generations of
communication and control equipment - all this complicates the task of network management.
The hierarchical architecture of the control system according to the concept of the telecommunication
management network (TMN) was investigated. The necessity to test network management systems for
compliance with the Recommendations of the International Telecommunication Union has been
substantiated. When choosing a specific management platform, the operator faces a problem related to
comparing functionality, assessing the advantages and disadvantages of implementing a management
system, and adapting the system to the operator's requirements and specifics, on the one hand, and to
available network resources, on the other.
Mandatory requirements for network management systems have been identified, as well as the main
parameters and protocols that need to be tested, and the main regulatory documents that need to be created
or harmonized with international standards in the field of communications.
