CURRENT TRENDS, OPPORTUNITIES AND RISKS IN INVESTMENT LENDING FOR ENTERPRISES
Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of current trends, risks and opportunities of
investment lending to enterprises in Ukraine against the backdrop of macroeconomic uncertainty
and challenges associated with the war. It is confirmed that business access to banking resources is
important for maintaining liquidity, adapting to energy and logistical constraints, as well as
ensuring the continuity of production and investment processes.
The research is based on the methods of theoretical generalization, comparative analysis, statistical
and structural-dynamic analysis, as well as the use of tabular and graphical data presentation. The
sources of information were official statistical and analytical documents of the National Bank of
Ukraine, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, and the Fund for the Development of
Entrepreneurship and Labor of Ukrainian Scientists.
It was found that the non-financial corporations sector remained the leader in the structure of the
banking system's credit portfolio, but the share of loans to enterprises in GDP had a downward
trend, which indicates a decrease in the importance of bank loans in financing the real sector of the
economy. A significant concentration of credit resources was found in such industries as trade,
manufacturing and agriculture. The predominant share is short- and medium-term loans against a
relatively low share of long-term financing.
It was found that the dynamics of interest rates on new loans was determined by the parameters of
monetary regulation, credit risk and general macroeconomic uncertainty. There is also a decrease
in the intensity of the inflow of new credit resources to business compared to the past.
The importance of the program "Affordable Loans 5–7–9%" for supporting business access to
banking resources and maintaining credit activity is confirmed. The results of the study can become
the basis for developing measures to improve enterprises' access to credit resources.
